Overview

We hold government leaders and institutions accountable for serving and representing our communities by fighting for political leadership and policy change that centers Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AA & PI). Drawing from the experiences of our communities, we lead campaigns to strengthen civil rights protections, support victims and survivors of hate and violence, direct resources and attention to AA & PI communities, and ultimately dismantle systemic racism and other inequities that prevent us from feeling safe and belonging in the places we live.

Our Policy & Advocacy team focuses on budget and policy advocacy, legal and legislative research, coalition and movement building, and community engagement at the local, state, and federal levels.

Campaigns

No Place for Hate

We’re leading a multiracial coalition to shift the burden of confronting hate and harassment away from victims and survivors and toward public agencies. In 2022, we secured historic legislation in California to make public transit and businesses safer and more accessible for all. In 2023, we are coming back to continue what we started.
