Over the past four years, Stop AAPI Hate has worked alongside community leaders, local organizations, and hundreds of thousands of supporters like you to advocate for policy change, support communities in crisis, and raise awareness about AAPI experiences.

While we have made immense progress, our work is far from over. AAPI communities continue to grapple with hate, discrimination, and other racial inequities — but we remain strong in our resolve. Looking back at all that we have achieved in four years’ time, we know that with your support, we have what it takes to #StopAAPIHate. With that in mind, let’s take a look back at our four favorite moments these last four years:

📝 Launched the reporting center

📍 March 2020

With COVID-19 on the rise, our coalition launched an online reporting center for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to share their experiences with race-based hate and discrimination. Since then, we’ve documented over 11,500 acts of hate nationwide.

📍 July 2021

Thanks to our efforts, California passed the API Equity Budget: a historic $160 million investment in Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. In 2023, we advocated for an additional $40 million to help combat hate and correct racial inequalities across the state of California.

🚋 Fought for groundbreaking legislation to stop street harassment

📍 February 2022

We launched the No Place For Hate campaign to address street harassment in California, by shifting the burden of hate and harassment away from victims and survivors and toward public agencies instead. Since 2022, we’ve successfully fought for the passage of three state bills to keep vulnerable communities safe on public transit and at businesses.

📍 September 2023

To confront the recent surge of anti-Asian scapegoating in U.S. politics, we launched Stop The Blame, a national campaign to defeat land ownership bans, discriminatory surveillance, and other issues that threaten the constitutional rights of Asians in America.

In honor of the fourth anniversary of Stop AAPI Hate, consider making a gift to fuel our movement for the next four years.
